Wrong SSL certificate for status.azure.com !

Sorry to write this here as a question, but I couldn't find any place to open a ticket.

If you open https://status.azure.com/ you get an certificate error because the certificate is issued for azure.microsoft.com.

I got this link when I tried to shut down an azure vm. Got an fullscreen error message with black background saying something went wrong and I should check the status. The link provided on the error message washttps://status.azure.com/

Why does everything take so long in Azure?

Created a simple RemoteApp image. Took 30+ mins to import into RemoteApp. Then took nearly an hour to create the collection. Now taken more than a hour to change the plan from basic to standard. What on earth is going on? This is a computer system - it should be done before the page refreshes!

Have you got little men running around the Data Centre transferring stuff manually on old fashioned floppy disks!?!

Who can tell me how much time will be needed for the maintenance?  I have systems that I cannot have down for long.  It says that the maintenance will not last longer than 48 hrs. but that is too long for my systems.  Is that really going to be how long for my specific systems?

1. I presently have Azure storage accounts, VM, and SQL machines under an expiring Visual Studio Premium with MSDN account, and under 6-month Trial account.

2. I just signed up for a 2-year renewal with a different vendor and Subscriber ID.

3. How can I transfer all my Azure items to my new VS Premium with MSDN account so I don't lose them?

I'm using same MS Account sign-in for my mew VS subscription.

Thanks.

My app service plan stopped showing monitoring information. So I can't see "Http Server Errors and Requests" and "MemoryPercentage and CpuPercentage" anymore. Does anyone know why this could have happened and how to fix it?

Azure Portal login problem: "You have signed out elsewhere. Click OK to log out from the management portal."

I can login to the management portal, but when it starts populating the services, the page goes grayscale and I get the message "You have signed out elsewhere. Click OK to log out from the management portal." with only an OK button.  This is the same issue that others were having on Feb. 27th referenced in this thread.  Currently, this is only happening in my Chrome browser, but works in IE.

Azure Services Naming (good/best practices)

Hi,

I'm looking for a good (consistent) way to name my Azure services (SQL databases, VMs, Service Bus Namespaces, Event Hubs, Storage Accounts, etc.). So I'm looking for ways (best/good practices) of how others are naming these?

Thanks.

Autoscale with Multiple App Service Plans

I believe I've found a bug in the latest version of the Management Portal. (portal.azure.com) I'm currently running two app service plans (formerly web hosting plans) under one account, both in the same resource group. Both have autoscale turned on. However, if I select the scale settings for any site running in the first plan, it instead displays the scale settings for the second plan. This means I'm unable to edit the scale settings for the first.

Clearing out the scale settings on the second plan and setting it to a fixed server count does allow me to workaround it. It's not a great long term solution, as I'm setting up multiple scaling rules on the second plan and I would prefer to not recreate them each time.

Migrated subscription items don't work in the new management portal

I recently migrated a few Web Apps from one subscription to another. In the manage.windowsazure.com portal everything works as expected, however in the new portal.azure.com preview the migrated items still show as belonging to the old subscription and don't function when selected.

Also one of the migrated Web Apps has two Application Insights items attributed to it, one for the old subscription and another for the new subscription. One has a resource group of "Default-Web-WestUS" and the other is slightly more lower case "Default-Web-westus".

Figured I mention it in case it's of interest to the engineers for investigating.

Apart from that, I'm loving the new portal for the items it functions for.

Swapping preview displays wrong information about connection strings

$

When I get ready to swap my staging slot with my production slot, the Azure Portal (new one) says that a connection string doesn't exist in the destination slot when it clearly does. In fact, when I perform the swap, the connection string properly maintains its slot-specific value, so this must just be a display bug.

The connection string has the same key in both slots, with both set to Slot Setting.

I have create one Azure Website (python application) and one Azure VM with SQL Server on our Subscription. Now I have to migrate same environment on Client Subscription.

Or Do I need to do it manually?

Microsoft Azure sponsorship offer/grant: are credit card details required?

$

We've won a Microsoft Azure sponsorship offer/grant for 12 month recently and are now trying to get a subscription for Data + Storage // SQL Database. As far as we understand, the subscription is supposed to be free for us, as we have this grant. But the system asks us to fill in credit card details, and there seems to be no way to skip this step. Do we really have to provide credit card information? If yes, will the subscription actually be free? And if the credit card info is required, then who should be the cardholder according to the existing rules? Should the card be registered to the scientific supervisor of the project (as a person) or to the university (as an institution), or it does not make difference and we can choose to do it either way?

Help desk did not provide answers, they sent us here.
