The Windows Azure Portal error

Hi,

I was trying to use the face APIs through Windows Azure, but I always get an error saying that"The Windows Azure Portal encountered an error while trying to access your subscription."each time when I log in. Do you have any solutions for that?

My ID is liangshu00@gmail.com

Thanks!

Auto login Azure management Portal

Currently, I am trying to download the azure certificate automatically once i run the command "Get-AzurePublishSettingsFile" from powershell. But every time it popups the IE window for logging into Azure Portal to download certificate. I want to automate this login activity so that certificate can be downloaded automatically at a location. I want to bypass the login activity. Kindly suggest some necessary steps for automation.

Azure Site-to-site VPN Basic SKU limitations - co-exist with ExpressRoute

Hi,

This page: https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/azure/jj156075.aspx#bkmk_Gateways lists three VPN Gateway SKUs with a comparison matrix: Basic, Standard, and Performance.  One of the differences between Basic and Standard is that, in the column labeled "VPN Gateway/ExpressRoute Co-exist", Basic says No and Standard says Yes.  I know what ExpressRoute is, but what does "Co-Exist" mean in this context?  What can I not do with Basic that I can do with Standard?

Also - this page: http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/vpn-gateway/  lists three types of VPN Gateways, but labels them as "Static/Dynamic Routing VPN Gateway", "Standard VPN Gateway", and "High Performance VPN Gateway" - is"Static/Dynamic Routing VPN Gateway" the same thing as Basic?

thanks!

Martin

Where is Azure Operational log?

I have two VMs failed to start ( showing “Starting (Could not start)” error).

I googled it and found

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28478576/azure-vm-refuses-to-start-starting-could-not-start

It mentioned there is a "Azure Operational log".

http://blog.ict.eu/2013/04/windows-azure-operation-logs/

http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/more-great-improvements-to-the-windows-azure-management-portal

Shows it should be in "Setting" menu.

But there is no such a option in my Azure portal, its setting menu only has

  • Subscriptions
  • Management certificates
  • Administrators
  • Affinity Groups
  • Usage
  • RemoteApp

My question is where I can find the Azure Operational log? also is there a CLI command to get it?

Thanks,

Store Site Diagnostics on blob storage

Hi

I have 2 problems with the Site Diagnostics logs.

1. I go to manage portal, websites, and i select my website, then i go to Configure, i click on manage storage (Site Diagnostics), in the list, "Windows Azure Blob Container", i change from logs to site-diagnostics, click OK, then i click on the save icon. I get a success message, then i refresh the page, click on manage storage, then logs is selected in the list, not site-diagnostics. Why? New files are created in logs, not in site-diagnostics that i selected.

2. I do the same thing on another website that i describe in point 1, the different is that i use another blob storage account to store my logs. Now, i want to change that to use the same storage account. When i click on save, i get a error message:
There was no endpoint listening at https://management.core.windows.net:8443/f3e46a........../services/storageservices/....devlog/keys that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

This storage account, "....devlog" is deleted, and is NOT selected in any list.

So, whats wrong?

Set JArray values with invalid key value: "LastUpdatedTime" on new alert rule creation

Hey all!

I'm trying to create a new alert rule using version 0.9.11 of the Monitoring Library and am getting this error on alertsClient.rules.CreateOrUpdate:

"Set JArray values with invalid key value: "LastUpdatedTime". Array position index expected."

That's interesting because LastUpdatedTime is a DateTime object, and whether I set it or I don't, if I set a breakpoint, it does set itself correctly, but the API appears to be expecting a JSON hash?

I've tested alertsClient and I'm able to get existing alerts (also metrics with metrics client), so I don't believe it's an access issue.

Any ideas?

The full code I'm using for the test (borrowed virtually verbatim from the Cloud Cover video here):

Rule newRule = newRule

{

    Name = "CPU Over 90%",

    Id = Guid.NewGuid().ToString(),

    Description = "CPU Has been over 90% for 5 minutes",

    IsEnabled = true,

    LastUpdatedTime = DateTime.Now,

    Condition = newThresholdRuleCondition

    {

        Operator = Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Management.Monitoring.Alerts.Models.ConditionOperator.GreaterThan,

        Threshold = 90,

        WindowSize = TimeSpan.FromMinutes(5),

        DataSource = newRuleMetricDataSource

        {

            MetricName = "Percentage CPU",

            ResourceId = "",

            MetricNamespace = ResourceIdBuilder.BuildCloudServiceResourceId(<cloudservicename>, <deploymentname>)

        }

    }

};

RuleAction action = newRuleEmailAction

{

    SendToServiceOwners = true,

};

newRule.Actions.Add(action);

OperationResponse alertResponse = alertsClient.Rules.CreateOrUpdate(newRuleCreateOrUpdateParameters { Rule = newRule });

Console.WriteLine("Create alert rule response: "+ alertResponse.StatusCode);

Activating Azure File Services in my subscription

I would like to test out Azure file services,But when I tried to create it from powershell I received the below message

New-AzureStorageShare : The remote name could not be resolved: 'shashankcs.file.core.windows.net'

At line:5 char:1

Looks like my subscription doesn't have this enabled, Please let me know the process to get it enabled.

Thanks

Shashank

I have an active MSDN subscription account.

Issues with Scalable Wordpress

Just been trying to setup a new instance of Scalable Wordpress in the new portal.azure.com and have been finding difficulty doing so. I've seen other questions where moderators have said it's resolved but for 6 hours I kept on getting a grey out button.

Finally managed to create a new instance (not sure how) but now my storage is located in Asia. I want the entire resource group in Northern Europe. Is there any way to either change the location now or is there a general fix for the portal coming up?

Thanks,

Adam

Azure Batch Preview request remains in "queued" state

I have joined the Azure Batch Preview program but my request remains in "queued" state.

When I tried to access Azure Batch in the Azure management portal it says:
"Your request to join the preview program is pending. After you are approved, you will be able to access this feature".

I'm very keen on getting access because we find Azure Batch a great tool and we would like to start using it as soon as possible to build proof of concepts to our clients. Is there any way to speed up the process? if not, how long does this approval process usually take?

I appreciate your help

Delete zombie app service plan

I have a zombie App Service Plan that won't delete, because it thinks it has a linked application.

Having thoroughly deleted any linked applications (actually any possible linked resources), but the App Service Plan still shows 1 App in the essentials element of the blade. Although, very helpfully no indication of what it thinks is linked!

Any ideas short of going to Dublin (North Europe) and hitting servers with a hammer?

Problem adding or changing firewall setting to allow access for specific IPs

Can anyone help?

I had no problem setting up my work IP from the office, but when I get home to do some coding and try to add my home IP so I can access the SQL database I get "Could not retrieve current IP address" in the management portal.  when I try the new portal.azure.com I get "Error loading file"

I tried placing my laptop in the DMZ of my home network so nothing was being blocked or filtered.

any help would be great.

Developer access to Azure EA portal

Hi,

I would like to understand the options available for a developer to work with Azure EA portal and API.

1. Is there a way to get developer/sandbox access to Azure EA portal?

Thanks for any help on this.

Azure Active Directory

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help.

I've been tasked with setting up two sites, one in US and one in the UK with on-premise Active Directory. Which is no problem for me, I've done it before, but, my client wants Active Directory on the cloud (Azure) which I am not too familiar with. They also want Office 365 setting up to use for emails and sharing files via Sharepoint/one drive, and they want single sign on. So my question is, can the 2 on-premise ADs replicate via the Azure AD, or do they need a site to site VPN setting up. Also, with Azure AD, do I still need to set up dirsync for single sign on? If yes, what would be the benefit of using Azure AD? Forgive me, I'm not too clued up with it.

Kind Regards

S
