Just created a scale set composed of four instances? Unsure how to connect to each instance?
These are application server we would need to install and configure each instance separately?

azure Activity log Alert error
Hi,
I am trying create custom Activity Log log alert for "Resource Health" of a VM using ARM Template, following the below link..

Error: Alerts are unable to fire
I want Activity Log Alerts triggered with an Email every time the Resource health of a VM goes from "Available" to "Unavailable".

App login report
We have an application in Azure. We can manually get the sign in report which is fine for most purposes however, we have been asked if this can be scheduled. Is there a way to do this in the GUI? I have tried downloading the Powershell script from the app which works well if you run it manually but when I try and automate, it crashes out asking for credentials. I have tried a few different ways to fix the script, but I have had no luck. It might be that I need to do more research on the PS if there isn’t another way.

How to setup MFA so that it is enabled for new user with manual intervention

Is there a way to set up MFA for a new user automatically without doing it manually? right now, I just do a bulk update and enable them that way. But with number of users that are created, I would like to have it done once user is provisioned.

Set of standard ports for Azure
Guys,
Is there a list of standard ports that are used in your organizations for Azure <===> on-premises resources to communicate.
For example: Port 3389 is needed to RDP into machines. Similarly there is one for Active directoryreplication and so on.
I was wondering if its documented anywhere what standard ports to use and they can be used as a start.

Hi all,
I want to login to my CSP account and see what all the services my client(tenants) have opted for.
I also want to administer them through powershell , I have used connect-azurerm cmdlets but need help in switching the tenants.
After login through powershell , how will I know how many customers I have.

Why has the ServiceName been removed from the Cost by resource report?
Select a subscription > Cost analysis > Cost by resource (Granularity: None, Group by: Resource) > Download data to CSV.
Last month this report this report started with columns ResourceGroupName and ServiceName. This month the ResourceGroupName has been moved over a few columns and ServiceName is gone. Makes comparing reports month on month kinda difficult.
Is there a way to select columns that I can't find, or has the report changed? How do I get the report with ServiceName back?

Export all Resources from One Tenant/Subscription with the created date and created by columns
Respected Community Members,
Quick question, on Azure Management portal, when we go to "All resources" tab, we can select lots of property of each resource, and export the list to slice and dice information as needed.
I did not see anything for Resource "created date" and "Created by" (service or user) information. Is there any way, I can export a list of resources name and all its detail attributes along with "created date" and "Created by" (service or user) and export that list easily?

Problem with 'Reply URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL)' parameter in SAML SSO configurations!
Here is an interesting case. First of all it seems that restriction for this field that says that URL should start with "https" only is redundant because SAML protocol do not require this. Seconly you can(!) set URL with "http" prefix when you push save button before error under text field appear. More than that you can set even "ht" that is obviously incorrect.

Trying to understand how device compliance policy works
Hoping someone can clarify a few things regarding configuring device compliance policies.
First, if I have a device which is a member of two different groups (Group1 and Group2), and I specify to Include Group1 in the compliance policy, but Exclude Group2, I'm assuming the policy will not apply to the device (thinking exclude takes precedence) and the device would be marked as "non compliant"...is that correct?
Now, assuming the above is true, if I also enable the setting "Mark devices with no compliance policy assigned as Compliant", would this device then be marked as Compliant?

We want to "capture a image" of a windows 2016 standard version. Microsoft store only has a 2016 datacenter version.

How would I get a 2016 standard to uploaded into Azure so that we can customize it before capturing the template?
If we do not want to convert a ISO to a VHD to upload what other file types can convert in order to add to azure?
We do not have any windows hyper-v on premise to convert ISOs to VHDs. There are only VMWARE servers in this department. Is there a safe way to move a VMWARE VM to Azure? Note we need to keep the original VMWARE VM on premise as a fall back.

Backup Oracle DB
Hello, how are you? Im very new in Azure
I have to backup Oracle DB running on Azure in a windows server. Im thinking to adding a new partitiondisk on VM and then I will tell DBA to deposite backup in this new partition. So my responsability is to only backup this new partition. Right?
How can I only backup this partition? Somebody can explain me the step by step?
Anything else I have to take into account?

Keeping scale set VMs in the same regional zone?
We want three app VMs which can load balance traffic to a SQL AG.
Should we create a scale set to connect to the SQL AG. If we keep the default setting for availability zone to blank?, it says if I choose a avail zone to deploy the scale set the managed disk and public IP (if you have one) will be created in the same avail zone as your scale set. I do not understand this statement because all traffic is within the domain so what is the public IP for? What is the consequence if I choose versus do not choose the avail zone?,.. managed disk in different zone than the scale set?
The three VM in the scale set and SQL AG can be created in the same avail zone (ie zone 1). How is is this scale different than if I create a three IaaS app servers which are NOT in a scale set and place these behind a LB? Are there any advantages for using a scale set in this case? My preference is to choose option which is simple and easiest to manage?

LB SKU standard and scale set question
When creating the scale set, the LB option is 1) public IP and 2) domain name label. Do I choose the domain name label or the public IP? The traffic is all internal.
When choosing SKU standard LB the below zone mapping redundancy is provided below. Does this mean that this LB will migrate with the IaaS if a datacenter in a avail zone is destroyed??
