Trouble logging onto the Windows Azure Management Portal

When logging onto the Windows Azure Management Portal I get the message “You have signed out elsewhere. Click OK to log out from the management portal.”

The only option is to click “OK”, which logs me out. However the esc key closes the message and allows me to resume the management portal. However, once I do this I can't seem to actually do anything in the management portal. For example, when I create an SQL database I can't select the region, and it says it's "creating" indefinitely. When I log out and log back in all "creating" objects disappear. Anything that needs to "load" in Azure never actually loads. This leads me to believe that I'm not actually logged into Azure.

The internet connection works fine and disabling firewall has no effect.

Is there a reason that message appears? Is there a way to prevent it from appearing?
