Can someone explain why I cannot start the h2server windows service on Windows Server 2012 or 2008? I have installed the program and updated the server files, as well as installed Games for Windows Live Marketplace which includes DLLs and files needed to connect to Windows Live. Once I open an elevated command prompt and create an h2server service instance, it says it has been successfully created and need to log off/back on for it to make changes. Once I do log back in, the h2server service is stopped, so I try to start it, but it runs for a few seconds, generates a PID, and then goes to Stopped.
Does Windows Server 2012/2008 or Azure allow third-party services to run on it? If so, can someone explain how or point me to an article(s) to help?
