I've lost the list of resources on my portal; how do I get it back?

I'm new at this and trying to learn it all by myself, so I'm tending to many more mistakes than I get anything right. Very frustrating.

Tonight is an excellent example. On the dashboard it had a "group" (I've no idea if that's the correct terminology or not, so that's what I'm calling it) which listed my resources. In another forum I saw a detailed view of the resources which I thought was that group on the dashboard. That is how I'd like to see things like resources. So I clicked on the edit button on resources group to edit the configuration. I was presented with a way of displaying the resources in multiple columns, etc. I didn't think that was what I wanted, so I decided to click on what I took to be the close button.

However, I was wrong about what the button was for and I had no clue at all that it was the wrong choice because there was no tooltip or anything alerting me to what the button was for. Instead clicking on "close" was really "remove". Why did it do that????? When I see a "X" in the upper right, I always take that to mean "close". I have never known it to mean "remove".

So, first thing, how do I get that group back with my resources on my dashboard?

Second, I'm wasting too many hours making mistakes like this. I'm getting extremely tired of it. Unfortunately I also have very little time to spend on any training and honestly almost no access most of the day to get to Azure or anything else on the Internet. (Long commute via a train through sections of countryside with no Internet access at all. Plus I work for an agency that blocks all sorts of useful websites, like all training websites, Azure, etc.) So, what resource can I look at this weekend to get a handle on how to work with the Azure portal? Whatever it is, it must be short. I do not have the time nor the opportunity to spend on training since its blocked or unavailable most of the hours I'm awake. Please, it most be short and something I can do in a couple of hours at most this weekend. (Hey, I've got other responsibilities to do when I'm home; besides trying to advance my career.)

Thank you.
