Account logins

I am confused by having different logins. At home I can log on to windows 10 with my microsoft account, and outlook 2016 also with my microsoft account and everything else microsoft is logged in and all syncs ok. At work I have to log on to windows with my work login on my computer, and to outlook with my work login to exchange server. SO I have a work email address as well as the email address associated with my personal microsoft account on my work outlook. When I enter appointments or new contacts at work they dont sync with my microsoft account I have to email them to myself! At Home or anywhere I use a surface pro 3 which I also login to with my microsoft account but use the windows 10 mail client and calendar. Whatever I enter into office 2016 at home syncs with these programs, but whatever I enter into outlook at work doesnt, I have to email a vcard or ical to myself. Is there a way to get it all to sync? I can login to the work exchange server from a browser but that is less user friendly than having appointments and new contacts syncing.
