'Not running in a hosted service or the Development Fabric' exception on deployed Worker role

We are getting this exception after a worker role has been operating fine in production for several weeks.  Once this exception starts getting reported, it will keep getting it every time the worker role tries to access anything with the Diagnostics:

Not running in a hosted service or the Development Fabric

Note that the role is full trust, and as I mentioned this in in production on the Azure servers, NOT in debug.  The worker role itself does some dynamic compilation, for which it needs to start a new AppDomain.  It appears that the exception is coming from the spawned AppDomain when it occurs.  The exception itself is triggered on a simple Trace.TraceInformation call.

What could cause this?

What can we do to recover from this?

the logo for the application has been changed in Azure portal, but it's not reflected during the login

Hi Azure support,

my name is Linda, Office365 technical support. I want to ask one Azure question on behalf on my customer. she has AAD_basic subscription.

she tried to change logo of one application, but failed. she followed the steps as below:

1. add the "Logo" in the application;

2. logo not reflect in the login page.

I cannot attach the screenshot, if you want, you could email me v-linsha

Visual Studio Online

I am totally new to cloud. I have just activated Visual Studio Online & have linked it to my azure account. While connecting the Visual Studio Online it is asking me Microsoft Account. But I want users to authenticate through active directory instead of Microsoft account.

Azure Portal login problem: "You have signed out elsewhere. Click OK to log out from the management portal."

I can login to the management portal, but when it starts populating the services, the page goes grayscale and I get the message "You have signed out elsewhere. Click OK to log out from the management portal." with only an OK button.  This is the same issue that others were having on Feb. 27th referenced in this thread.  Currently, this is only happening in my Chrome browser, but works in IE.

When I log in to Azure Portal Management, I get a message

"You have signed out elsewhere.  Click OK to log out from the management portal."   It greys out the portal so I can't do anything except to click OK to log out or hit escape to bypass this message.  How do I get rid of this message?

Deleting a Web app from the Azure Management Portal

When I selected a Web app in Azure Management Portal and clicked Delete at the bottom, the message "Loading" would hang there for hours without actually deleting that Web app.  I just got started with the free trial.  Am I missing something?

Fix Public IP address for a VM

Id like to fix the Public IP of a VM so that when its deallocated the Public IP address of the VM does not change. I tried following these instructions here:- http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/10/28/step-by-step-assign-a-public-ip-to-a-vm-in-azure.aspx but on deallocating/stopping the VM the Public IP address of the VM changed.

Can anyone point me to the correct article or link that explains 'how' to fix a Public IP address for an Azure VM so that i don't have to update Public DNS every time i 'stop' a VM.

RDP certificate thumbprint not showing

Hello,

We re using azure for past 2 months, Everything was going well,

Suddenly one vm we are not able to take the RDP.

I checked in dashboard and noticed there is 0 bytes of network in and out,

and also found there is no record of rdp certificate thumbprint and host name.

Also tried to ping from other vm but no response.

Can any one help me in this.

Intellisense Error in .config when configuring Service Bus

Hi, When typing some Service Bus AppFabric configuration in app.config / web.config.

Somehow I cannot get the intellisense of:

Monitoring Alert Notifications not being sent.

Hello,

I've set up azure server monitoring for a various counters for web servers in our Azure IaaS environment.  Over the past few weeks we've had some server issues which have caused CPU to run extremely high for extended periods of time.  We are also monitoring the response times for the web endpoints on the servers as well.

I can see that the thresholds for some of the monitors are being exceeded and the portal shows that the alerts are active, but for some reason we are not being sent any emails to the notification email address I've configured.

I have confirmed that the email address used is valid and we can send to it directly.

Screenshot of the alert status shown below.  We never received an email for this alert.

Alert notifications were previously working.  When I first configured them, I had thresholds set low and received some alerts by email.

Does anyone know how we should resolve this?

Is there a way to export settings for a resource group in new portal?

The old portal allowed you to export the XML for the settings for a VNET. I don't see the equivalent feature in the new portal. I'd like to be able to download a copy of the settings for an entire resource group to use as a template file for creation of a new resource group deployment using the New-AzureResourceGroupDeployment PowerShell script.

Old (erased / unsuscribed) subscriptions still appear in new portal, not in old portal

It seems there is a problem in the new portal, that still shows suscriptions from which I (as user) have been erased/unsuscribed 

here my portals :

on my own username  pPURPLEgmail..., I have one subscription within its own Active directory  pYELLOW INTERNAL USERS

I am also member (active) of another subscription hGREEN development

This two subscriptions appear correctly on old and new portal

But I use to be member of also two other subscription (free-one-month subscriptions)  cORANNGEhotmail and eREDhotmail with Active directories with standard name "Directorio predeterminado" (Spanish name)

Those subscriptions ended, and I have been erased/unsubscribed from both of them (by myself, to clean up), 

the thing is, they still appear in my new portal, but not in the old one (old is correct, ejem...)

Is that something I have to correct from my side, or is (another) bug on the new portal ??

(sure this is not something high priority, but keep things clean make the world more beautiful)

delegated admin information incorrect

How do I change the information associated with my Partnership when I send out a delegated admin request?

Currently it then puts n email and a phone number as well as the name of my [partnership.

Those need to be changed.

SQL Azure server icons in new portal

Hi all, probably a silly question but just want to check that nothing is wrong.

I've been upgrading my SQL azure servers to V12 the last couple of days and have noticed that the icons next to the server have gone from green on top to amber. What does this signify? All of my DBs seem to be working just fine and the servers report as available. Anyone else had this?

Can't choose Resource Group region

Following my discussion with David Ebbo on twitter (https://twitter.com/luisrudge/status/583644615716265984), I want to know why all my resource groups are created  with the South Central US region, even though my web app (and first resource item) is being created on Brazil South region.

What does AVG and TOTAL mean in monitor of cloud service?

We are monitoring the resource usage of Cloud Service, from the monitor portal, we can see some metrics.

How to Monitor Cloud Services

From the above chart, we can see last 1 hour data for the MIN, MAX .etc, but what does the AVG and TOTAL mean, how can the AVG value is smaller than the MIN?

So, anyone can explain the MIN, MAX, AVG, TOTAL meaning? Thanks.

New Portal : Can't change subscription

Hi,

I'm co-administrator of two subscriptions (professionnal for my two companies).

  • When I open the new portal it's opening the first subscription.
  • On my menu I select my second subscription.
  • I can see the redirection to my second subscription in the adress bar, the startup page, but after some seconds I got some redirections and I'm back to my first subscription.

I'm french so generally I work in french, but because some issues I changed to English language (each subscription). For personnal I'm co-administror of two subscriptions too, and I don't have problem to switch, but the two are in french. I don't if it's because of that.

I back to french for my first subscription, but same problem.

I try with IE11 and Firefox 37, same problem.

Deleting cloud service from new portal

When you delete a VM, there's a cloud service that remains. In the older portal, you can see this leftover cloud service in the "Cloud Service" tab and delete it. Is there a way to delete this leftover cloud service in the new portal?
